Help buy essentials for the girls of NPH MX

I have been working and living in Mexico at an organization called Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos for the past five months. The organization has sites in nine different countries. The Miacatlán, Mexico site is home to roughly 400 orphaned or abandoned children.  I work with the secondary aged students in the school (grades 7th-9th) in the mornings. Then in the afternoon, weekends and some evenings I work with a house of 16 teenage girls (aged 13-16). From my time at the home I have come to see the needs of my girls that cannot fully be met with the budget of an orphanage of its size.  Also, I have seen first hand visiting groups/organizations donate items to the youngest kids of the house but not to the older teenagers. That being said, I have accumulated a list of essential items that the girls in my house and the other middle school aged girls are in need of and thought Christmas season would be the perfect time to surprise the girls with these items. Many of these girls, if not all of them, have experienced trauma,  neglect and other horrible things in their lives thus far and these small gifts not only are essentials but will show them that people do care about them and that their lives are valuable. These girls have come be such a huge part of my life and they deserve so much more than what life has thrown their way. I will be taking the donations from this fundraiser and using them to purchase the items locally in time for Christmas. Lastly, I want to thank you all for reading this post (and most likely some of my other weekly Facebook posts throughout these last five months).
