My nephew, Kelvin Obed Acuña Muñoz, is kind, joyful, and always making everyone around him laugh. Despite all the hardships he’s faced, including losing his mother two years ago, he has remained the same caring and positive person who brings joy to those around him. Our family is heartbroken as we try to help Kelvin through an incredibly difficult time. He went to present himself after receiving a letter instructing him to do so, but once he went inside, he never came back out. We were later told that he had been detained. While detained, Kelvin became extremely scared and went into shock, causing him to lose consciousness. Doctors informed us that his heart was not pumping properly and that he may have suffered a heart-related emergency. Medical staff were able to stabilize him, and he has since been transferred to a hospital where we were told he will need immediate heart surgery. At the same time, our family is doing everything we can to cover the legal expenses needed to fight his case and bring him home. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward his legal fees during this devastating time. We would also be deeply grateful for anyone willing to share his story and keep Kelvin in their prayers.
