Help the Shriner GoKart team get back into parades

Donation protected

Cibara Motor Corps, is a unit of Ben Ali Shriners located in Sacramento, CA. You probably know them as the “yellow go-kart guys!” Cibara is most memorable at parades in our local Greater Sacramento area. You generally find these charismatic characters zipping up and down the streets and bringing entertainment and smiles to our local community in order to promote awareness for the children of Shriner’s Hospital. Shriners Hospitals for Children provides specialized pediatric care, including Orthopedics, Burns, Spinal Cord Injury, Plastic Surgery, Cleft Lip Surgery, Pediatric Surgery and Prosthesis; REGARDLESS of a family’s ability to pay.

In the early hours of the morning of August 11th, vandals broke into the grounds of the Ben Ali Shrine Center in Sacramento, California. These vandals broke into the Cibara Motor Corps trailer. They proceeded to steal and vandalize all the go-karts, in addition to vandalizing Cibara Motor Corps custom trailer. Leaving Cibara Motor Corps to pay for tens of thousands of dollars in damages.

Cibara Motor Corps trailer was left torn open, holes punched through the floor and go-karts either completely destroyed or stolen. Tools were taken, and the stands that the go-karts rest on were also stolen. These vandals were highly destructive, and their crime was calculated. They left Cibara with absolutely nothing, and now Cibara must recover and raise funds to get back on the road to promote awareness for the children at the hospital. The sad part is that these vandals have taken more than just go-karts from the Cibara Motor Corps; they are taking away time and money that could be used and focused on the children.

In order to get back out into the communities, Cibara needs to repair their trailer, purchase 12 new go-karts, replace tools and other items stolen and raise funds for a truck to tow the trailer. This GoFundMe was updated to include the purchase of the stolen items and repair damage done due to the theft. Initially, it was set up to raise funds to purchase a pickup truck to tow the trailer purchased after we lost the use of our diesel box truck. We were still in the process of raising funds for a pickup truck when the theft occurred. Please share this story, and if you can, please donate to our Go Fund Me; any donation helps. We thank you for your time.
