Help Bella get Scoliosis Surgery
Donation protected
Hello, I am Bella's mom.
Meet my baby girl, Bella Adame. Bella is an amazing 17 year old who dreams of becoming a pediatric dentist. She is such a great kid, she's respectful with whoever she meets. She is a great big sister and daughter. She loves everything and anything that is pink. She's also a very smart young lady (#3 in her class) attending Early College High School and part of the Marching Band playing the sax.
We knew she had mild scoliosis which was being monitored by her doctor at every yearly visit. This year we went to a different provider, who then sent us to a specialist, who confirmed Bella had what is called a butterfly vertebrae which is a rare congenital anomaly of the spine that can occur in the neck as well as 45 degree curvature which she couldn't guarantee that it wouldn't progress as the years went by, so surgery is her best option. We were unaware that scoliosis affects heart, lungs, and digestive system. This explains so much since we have been referred and seen by two heart specialists that said the heart murmur is so small they weren't worried about it, but those digestive issues continue being a problem.
We know the urgent need for immediate action, but there is one big hurdle, which is the cost of surgery. Our insurance covers some but falls short and and our expense is big. Even just getting the three MRI's she is needing (cervical, thoracic, lumbar) is a little over $3000. We are hoping we are able to get her the surgery this December. That is the only gift she wants, as she puts it, a brand new spine.
I am reaching out to the generosity of strangers, the kindness in the hearts of people and anyone who is moved by her story. Your support and help can lift the burden of that surgery.
