Help Badi Community in Western Nepal

Hi, my name is Anju Regmi Sigdel from London. I am a marathon runner aiming to spread awareness about health with fitness. I am running Everest Marathon on 29th May 2023.

I am raising some funds to help the Badi Community in the far western region of Nepal. Hikmat Badi and his wife are running a hostel in Surkhet that accommodates over 100 boys and girls of various ages from Badi Community in various districts of the region.

Badi Community is regarded as a lower caste community. Families of this community around the country are living in poverty, feeding their children with low-paid manual work that includes digging gravel from the river, singing in functions, and even prostitution at a young age.

Only education for the children will empower them to raise this community above. Hikmat and his wife are doing outstanding work to help those children to enable them to go to school. Due to the lack of funds while running the hostel, Hikmat has sold his business, and his bike; his wife has left her job to help in the hostel.

Your small amount of help will give them hope to support the children so that they can continue their studies.
