Help for baby Neon

Hello friends and family. Marc and I are trying to raise funds for the nephew of someone dear to us. When we lived in the Philippines, we were fortunate to have kasambahays (home helpers) who were very good to us. One of them was Lenlen, nanny to our first-born. Len was very loving to our child and really devoted her time to our family. We have managed to stay in touch with her to this day, even as we no longer live in the Philippines.

Recently, we found out that her 3-month old nephew, baby Neon, has been in the ICU for over a month. He developed meningitis at birth and was intubated for 2 weeks. Eventually, he was diagnosed with pneumonia, low hemoglobin, and hydrocephalus. He currently experiences frequent seizures which may lead to a coma if prolonged. They are waiting for space to free up at another hospital where he can have surgery because the hospital they are currently in is unable to offer full treatment for his diagnosis.

Neon's father (Len's brother) is a factory worker, but he has had to take time off work due to the situation. Neon's mother has been struggling with post-partum depression since his birth (shared with permission). They have an older child to also care for. Len has taken numerous hospital shifts to watch over the baby despite having a family of her own. Her father has also had to take time off work to help care for Neon.

The family is in need of financial support as the surgery is estimated to reach $7500CAD (approximately PHP300,000). This does not include other necessary treatments.
