Help Baby Esther Battle Neuroblastoma

On the 8th of October Kaitlyn & Liam's  beautiful, gorgeous, crazy strong little baby broke their hearts.  At 4 months and 2 days old, Esther was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma.  After gradually losing movement and strength in her legs & neck, and being constipated in the last week, they took her to the doctors.  They mentioned the lack of movement in her legs and were rushed to their local hospital to see some paediatricians.

 

They desperately wanted an MRI so  were transferred to QLD Children’s Hospital in Brisbane late on the Thursday night.  The MRI showed a very big tumour starting in Esther's chest, wedging between her ribs, wrapping all the way around her Aorta and finishing at the start of her tummy.  It was also compressing on her spine causing her loss of mobility and also her constipation.

 

She was rushed straight into surgery to do a laminectomy (remove part of her spine and remove the tumour and decompress her spine) in the hope to gain mobility back in her legs in the future.  She is so incredibly strong and brave.

 

A follow up MRI showed her spine looks positive and they got approx. 95% of the tumour from her spine.  Esther will start chemotherapy on the 15th of October, once the biology results of the tumour are back. They have an incredibly long journey ahead, away from their home town. 

Liam and Kaitlyn are asking for donations to help pay for their weekly bills and basics such as rent and car insurance so that they can continue to live in Brisbane for the duration of Esthers treatments a little less stress free.
