Who We Are:
We are the Animal Welfare Club at the Asian University for Women (AUW) in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Our student-led group is dedicated to caring for stray and abandoned animals on and around our campus in the broader Chittagong.
What We Do:
Every day, students provide food and medical treatment for cats and dogs who would otherwise be left to struggle on the streets. With limited resources, we do our best to arrange:
- Emergency veterinary care for sick and injured animals
- Vaccinations and sterilization to promote long-term health and reduce overpopulation
- Food and supplies for the animals
- water stations across the city to provide for stray animals, especially during the hot monsoon season
- Awareness campaigns to encourage humane treatment of animals in the wider community
Why We Need Support:
Our work largely relies on donations. Veterinary bills, food costs, and medicines often cost more than we can cover ourselves. With your help, we can ensure that no injured or abandoned animal is left untreated or unfed.
How Your Support Helps:
Your support will help us cover outstanding medical bills for many of the animals in our care. Additional funds will be directed toward spaying the female cats campuses and vaccinating the animals on the AUW campuses.
Transparency:
Because GoFundMe does not operate directly in Bangladesh, funds will be collected in a U.S.-based account of our faculty advisor and securely transferred to our club. We will post updates, photos, and receipts so you can see the impact of your generosity.
