Help Army Combat Veteran Ryan Fleming

Donation protected
Ryan Fleming is a Post 9-11 Combat Wounded Veteran and an SMGA New England member that was involved in a very recent and horrific motorcycle accident. His family welcomes and needs our help.

I have had discussion with Ryan’s wife, Ryan Marie Fleming, about the Fleming Family’s situation due to her husband Ryan’s recent motorcycle accident and financial impact on his family and business.

Ryan will be convalescing at home in bed for at least 6-8 months from his significant injuries including compound fractures to left tibula and fibula, fractured ankle, torn MCL and other serious debilitating lower and upper body injuries.

Significant accidents like this will have multiple layers of impact on their family. Disruption of the family home scene especially now being complicated with his at home convalescence and the kids stay at home virtual schooling issues, physical exhaustion of Ryan Marie as a primary in-home care giver and children’s tutor, managing personal finances, VA insurance claim processes, transportation to
physical therapy many miles from their home, financial and business continuity issues are all considerations the Fleming Family Team now have to deal with.

The Ryan’s have three school age girls Natalie 14, Haley,13, Rilee 8 and son Carver 2.

Ryan Marie has her hands full with care giving for her once again wounded veteran husband, being a mom to her four kids and now becoming the CEO and CFO for her family’s health care needs, enormous medical bills that may or may not be entirely covered by their VA insurance and personal financial
needs.

Finances should be the least of her worries but when reality sinks in over the coming weeks.  Ryan’s accident creates what appears to us as an insurmountable amount of stress even for someone as resilient and strong as Ryan Marie. Her personal well-being is critical in keeping the family healthy and emotionally secure.

Ryan and John Murphy started Monadnock Sprinkler Co in 2019 with a mission to develop a strong business and empowering Veterans to become part of a future success story. Although they are close friends, business partners as well as having a landlord(Fleming) renter (Murphy) relationship, the additional pressure on John to keep a young start-up Monadnock Sprinkler Co afloat without the help of his full time partner adds an additional layer of financial and personal pressure on both John
& Ryan.

Ryan has always been a care giver to others including opening up their home to friends who are down and out and struggling with physical and emotional combat related injuries, peer mentoring for veterans and financially supporting them even when it stressed the Fleming family finances, finding jobs for veterans in need and being Vice Commander of his local VFW post and many other details
about kindnesses I am not aware of. It is good time for all to step and support Ryan and his family.

Ryan Marie does have confidence in her VA relationship coordinator she deals with which is comforting to her. Local DAV director and friend Mike Valila has provided a hospital bed, walker, wheelchair and personally installed a ramp at their home.

The following is a check list of needs based on my conversation with Ryan Marie.
 3 Chrome Books for the School age girls (Current ones are old and borrowed from their school which are frequently breaking down causing them to miss remote zoom lessons). Estimated cost of $600 to $1,000 each.

 Minimum level of supplemental replacement income estimated at $3,500 per month for the next 8 months or longer depending on when Ryan can get back to work as a full-time partner with John.

 A volunteer financial planner that will assist Ryan Marie in controlling & managing their new financial and banking needs.

 A new home Desk or laptop PC, software and printer estimated at $1,200 to help track all family personal, educational & financial needs.

 Volunteers to transport Ryan to physical therapy and VA visits.

 Volunteers to take the kids to their sport and other outside of the home activities which will give Ryan Marie a break to take care of herself.

 Volunteers to prepare family meals coordinated with Ryan Marie’s needs and directions.

Another suggestion is a paid subscription to an in-home meal service provided by one of the many on-line at home meal box vendors.

 Volunteers to assist Ryan in his rehab at home.

Thank you for considering this request for support of the Ryan Fleming Family.
