Help April & Ron Have an IVF Baby

Donation protected
Many of you know our story. Some of you may not know us at all. Five years ago, while April was 22 weeks pregnant, we learned that London Joy, our daughter, had a genetic disorder, Trisomy 13. Tens of thousands of you from around the world united with us in prayer, fed us, and supported us. London Joy was born, lived, and went to heaven on the same day, May 9th, 2017. It was the most difficult and the holiest day of our lives.

Having a baby is supposed to be easy. The birds, bees and billions of people are proof of this basic biological principle. In the most difficult way possible, we have learned that growing a family isn’t easy for everyone. It hasn’t been easy for us. This is news for many of you, but we suffered a miscarriage this fall. After a series of tests and surgery, we have been told that primarily because of our age that we have less than a 1% chance of natural conception.

Over the last five years, we have been open with our grief. So many of you have supported us and we are tremendously grateful. Today, we come to you, our friends, family, and friends of friends and family with our hope. We are pursuing IVF to build our family after consultation with a fertility specialist. A successful complete round of IVF will increase our chance of pregnancy from 1% to almost 75%. That is encouraging to our hearts.

We are looking forward to a new miracle and ask that you would join us in growing our family. There are three ways to be involved:

1. Give to help with the cost of IVF.
2. Share this campaign via your social media and email lists.
3. Pray for a successful outcome and favor with medical providers.

IVF is expensive. The cost of one complete round of IVF will be about $35,000. We can fund a part of IVF using available credit; we do not have all the funds.

Below is the breakdown of one round of IVF:
  • Cycle Stimulation & Monitoring - $2,850
  • Anesthesia - $1,300
  • Oocyte Retrieval/Insemination/Culture - $8,375
  • Embryo & Semen Cryopreservation - $1,750
  • Pre-implantation Embryo Testing/Analysis - $6,000
  • Frozen Embryo Transfer - $4,500
  • IVF/FET Lab Fees - $1,950
  • IVF/FET Medications - $5,500
  • Assisted Hatching - $800
  • Pre-IVF Testing - $2,000

Total = $35,025

IVF has many moving parts, and the first attempt may not work. If we raise extra funds, they will pay for steps of the process that need to be repeated. After a successful attempt, we will donate any left-over funds to another family who needs fertility help.

Our goal is to have the funds ready by July to start the process this summer. We will update this page as we move forward and share our story on our blog: https://www.thisisourmustardseed.com. We are ready to grow our family and cannot wait to take this journey with you.
