Help Amy's family - home at risk

My name is Sue Mahon and I am hoping to raise funds for my sister Amy and her two children to help with living expenses as my twelve-year old niece Katy battles complications from a kidney transplant. Amy is a single mom and it has been a rough few months for her and the kids. Back in August, Katy started rejecting her kidney. Using extreme measures, the doctors were eventually able to stop the rejection, but the side effects of destroying her immune system in order to save the kidney have been considerable. Her immune system should have started to recover by now, and it hasn't. This has resulted in a very low hemoglobin, and general ill health. Although she hoped to be able to go back to school after recovering from the rejection, it is now considered too risky for her to attend. Starting this week, she will be cyber-schooled from home. Although we are hopeful that ways will be found to boost her immune system, and get her on the road to recovery, in the meantime Amy has been unable to work. Because of this, the family has not only been struggling with Katy's health, but are struggling financially. I am setting up this GoFundMe account to try to relieve some of the financial pressure (rent, utilities) so that they can concentrate their energies on improving Katy's health. The financial stress has at times felt overwhelming, and if I can help relieve that pressure from their lives, some of the weight might be lifted from their shoulders.
