Help Amber Overcome Her Mental Health Crisis
Donation protected
My daughter Amber is currently in a mental health crisis and in need of some financial assistance through this time. Amber has struggled with anxiety and depression for most of her life, she has been seeking medical help for years through therapy, her primary care, trying different medications, working on her own mental health through self care and coping skills. Since moving to a new state last summer she has been working even harder to keep her mental health in check with being in an unfamiliar area and it hasn't been the easiest journey. About a month and a half ago she was prescribed two new antidepressants, she began one and then a second one two weeks later. Things seemed to be going well with her mental health for the first 3 weeks of the second medication being added when things took a turn. Amber began feeling very panicked and anxious out of nowhere, feeling afraid to leave the house or do things that she does on a normal basis and not sure why she felt afraid. One Friday morning when she was trying to get ready to go to work she felt like she was going to pass out from being so afraid to leave the house, her body felt heavy like she could hardly move, she was pale and speaking too slowly. Over the weekend she became very shaky, she could not stop moving her legs and began pacing the house, she was hot and sweaty, she felt terrified to do anything. By this point Amber had hardly slept over the previous week. By Sunday she was asking to go to urgent care because she didn't feel right and was afraid something bad was going to happen to her. Urgent care sent her to be assessed by a local behavioral health hospital and came to the conclusion that she is having a bad reaction to at least one of her medications and she needs to work with a psychiatrist to get back on track to living her normal life. Amber is self employed and not able to work at this time as her body does not feel right and she hasn't been able to carry out living her normal life and functions for nearly a week. She is worried about all their bills not being covered and the medical bills that are about to come in from urgent care and extra doctors appointments during this time. Any little bit helps to support their family, we are doing absolutely everything we can to get Amber the help she needs to be her healthy and happy self again.
