With a strong family history of cancer, you kind of get in the thinking of "when" rather than "if". But no matter how much you expect to eventually hear those words, nothing can truly prepare you for when eventually is 'now'.

Amanda has been her own advocate, demanded yearly scans before the "normal recommended age", and was as proactive as possible. And thank God she was.

The day came, the words were spoken, and every day since has been a worldwind of planning and prepping, appointments and tests, treatment options and surgery dates.

My sister is so strong. She's as tough as they come. But this...this is a LOT.
