Hi, my name is Alicia, and I’m asking for help during a very difficult and frightening time. Last year, my boyfriend was violently attacked by a member of my family and was stabbed, requiring stitches. While he survived, he continues to live with both physical and emotional trauma from what happened. We spent over a year going through the court process, hoping for protection and a sense of safety. Unfortunately, the case recently ended without the outcome we needed, and the person responsible is now free. Because of this, we are no longer able to feel safe where we are.

My sister and I currently live together, and all three of us—my boyfriend, my sister, and I—are now in a position where we urgently need to relocate to a safer place so we can be away from ongoing fear and stress. We’ve made the difficult decision that the only way forward is to start over somewhere safer. We are simply trying to rebuild our lives in a place where we can feel safe again, and we need to relocate as soon as possible due to ongoing safety concerns. Unfortunately, we are not in a financial position to make that move on our own.

We are asking for help to cover moving costs, security deposit and first month’s rent, and basic living expenses while we get settled.
