Help Alfie be Alfie Again

Each and every one of us know just how hard 2020 and the pandemic has been for us as adults. We are also painfully aware of the effect that this has had on our little humans to.

Please allow me to introduce you to Alfie.

Alfie is a funny, loving and aspiring footballer from Wigan. Alfie has missed out on lots of things during 2020 - schooling and education, Social interaction with friends and family and playing football for his team.

I hear you say, yes……. the same as ALL children in 2020. So, what makes Alfie that little bit different? 

 

Not different exactly, more special in our eyes. Alfie developed Alopecia.  His fantastic blonde hair is no more and unfortunately unlikely to return.  Alfie will leave Primary School later this year and join his friends and make new friends in High School.  I am sure we can all remember just how daunting our first day at High School was.  Take yourself back to that memory and add the fact that you have lost your hair.  ☹

The family are looking into helping "Alfie be Alfie Again" by obtaining a specially made hair piece/wig that is designed just for him so that he can feel like himself again. These are very expensive, and it is something that will need upgrading or replacing as he grows.  So, this is how and why we have decided as family and friends to set up a fund raising page so that quite simply – Alfie, could be Alfie again. 

We mentioned our idea to Alfie and asked his permission if we could do this as it would mean using his photos and highlighting what he has gone through.  Alfie's first thought was that if we can help him we may be able to raise enough money to help other little boys in the same position as him. He told his mum, that if he could help another boy that would make him feel really happy inside. 

Friends, family, work colleagues, business contacts - 2020 and some of 2021 as been truly harrowing for many of us, but can you do something to "Help Alfie be Alfie Again”
