Help Us Build a New Life: Support Our Immigration Journey

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

I am reaching out today with a heartfelt request for help as I and my family immigrate to England from South Africa, in

search of better opportunities, safety, and a brighter future. I have access to an ancestral visa via my father, however,

the costs of the immigration process – in particular the required contribution towards the National Health Service

program – are overwhelming, and I need your support to make this dream a reality.

I’ve set up this GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs associated with our immigration journey. Every

contribution, no matter how small, will make a big difference. The funds will go directly to cover:

• Legal fees for immigration paperwork and consultation

• NHS contribution for myself, wife and daughter for five years

• Visa and application fees

• Travel expenses (flight, accommodation, etc.)

• Living expenses as we settle in and begin to build our new life

life full of opportunity and hope.

We have a number of reasons to pursue this venture, including the following:

1. Better Job Opportunities

Both my wife and I have struggled to find suitable work in South Africa. My wife has a Doctorate in Supramolecular

Chemistry from the University of Cape Town. She is passionate about anything chemistry related but can’t find

employment in this field. This is, unfortunately, not unusual, with many chemistry PhD graduates having to further

study something completely different to enter the work place.

2. Education Opportunities

For the better part of 4 years, we have been trying in vain to get our daughter (10yr) into any one of our local public

schools. Within 3,5km (2 miles) of our home are three great public schools. They are all “oversubscribed” and deny us

every year. Outside of this area we are not considered to be within the feeder area and are automatically denied. The

Department of Education is of little help, offering us a place at a rural school 40km (25 miles) away from our home!

Our next option would be going private, with fees being up to half our household income, which is not sustainable.
