Help Aggie Overcome Flood Challenges!

Our small local business was just starting to get back on its feet when the most recent, devastating flood hit our town in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Aggie has been working around the clock—mostly alone—with help from a few friends, trying to salvage what’s left from her roadside displays, but the damage is overwhelming and too much to recover from on her own.

Hi all, my name is Evelyn, and I’m Aggie’s daughter. She owns Bears "R" Us the bear shop next to Jorge's Cafe.

I’m starting this GoFundMe to help my mom through a hard time. She’s a single woman who has been through hell and back and yet, she’s still standing. She’s incredibly strong and proud, and asking for help is not something that comes easy to her. She hasn’t requested for any donations because she doesn’t want to burden anyone, but I know she could use the help.

Over the last two years, her small business has faced one disaster after another. Her shop has burned down, flooded multiple times, and somehow, she’s still managed to persevere through it all. These unforeseen setbacks have made it impossible for her to relocate on her own. She’s been looking but most places are far too expensive, and without support or enough motivation, moving everything alone just hasn’t been realistic.

Right now, she’s at a crossroads and seriously considering closing the business indefinitely. But I know, deep down, that’s not what she wants. This isn’t just a shop it’s her passion, her purpose, and something she built with her own two hands over the last 25 years.

The funds from this GoFundMe will go directly toward helping her recover from the most recent flooding—cleaning up and repairing damages, restoring the space, and clearing the shop’s driveway so she can reopen safely and continue carving bears.
