Please Help Our Family Stay Together!
Hi! My name is Mandy. I am a 36-year-old married mom of 3 who is in desperate need of help to keep my family together!
In light of the recent election and the blatant threats of mass deportations, ending birthright citizenship, denaturalizations, along with private companies already building migrant internment camps, Tom Homan saying entire families could leave together, the “zero tolerance” family separation policy, the Madison Square Garden Rally where a member actually said people should be “slaughtered” and of course, Donald Trump’s rhetoric on the campaign trail calling migrants “poison to the blood of the country,” saying they have “bad genes,” & so much more—we find ourselves in dire need of financial help to keep our family together.
In 2002, Alfredo was 15 years old living in his home country of Mexico when he realized if he wanted a better life, he couldn’t have it in Mexico. He knew to do that, he would need to come to America. He knew he would never be able to afford it himself. So, he was faced with a choice—stay and accept his fate of having nothing in life or get up and forge his own path.
He imagined at 15 years old that he would work for a few years, save money, and go back to Mexico, like many migrants do. So, he packed his bags, kissed his mother and father goodbye (his father for the LAST time, though he couldn’t have known it), and he headed to America.
Alfredo has worked since he first arrived and he has never quit.
In 2008, I met Alfredo at a gas station when I was 19 years old and he was 20. We could barely communicate without translation lol, but for some reason, we just clicked.
In 2011, we brought our first child into the world, a son named Adrian, a LITERAL miracle baby! Adrian arrived in spite of PCOS, birth control, and Grand Mal Seizures, and he made it to us safely!
In 2013, we introduced our second son, Jacob—another miracle! Jacob came despite the birth control just like his brother and with mama having Grand Mal Seizures, but he was perfectly healthy!
The love myself, Alfredo & Adrian, at only 2 years old, felt for that little guy was overwhelming.
We thought Jacob completed our family, and he did for a long time…
Until February 2022 when I found out I was pregnant once again—it would be 10 weeks later when I finally found out she was a daughter—a fact that the entire family was excited about!
As a family, we bought our first home in 2022 and Daenerys Estrella was born in October.
Our little family was finally complete.
Alfredo had accomplished what he had set out to do all those years ago—though back then he thought it would be in Mexico, with a Mexican wife lol.
Through blood, sweat, and tears he built a life for himself, his wife, and his children.
& now, we are faced with the most terrifying situation of all—the threat of the government swooping in, holding checkpoints, going door to door, and ripping families apart—ours among them.
Alfredo is our only income currently, as I had to temporarily stop selling online to focus on my daughter and my health. So, things are already tight.
We never were able to start the process of getting a green card; it was always too expensive and required leaving the United States and his family and potentially never getting to come back, or being barred for 3-10 years. A small chance that has scared me out of taking the risk.
But NOW we have found a lawyer who takes payments over a 12-month period which is AMAZING—the only thing standing in the way at this moment are the filing fees which total $2,115.
So, I am asking you, dear friend, family, or stranger to please consider donating to this GoFundMe today so that our family can stay together. So my 13, 11, and 2-year-old don’t have to grow up without their father because of a choice he made as a teenager. So that a man who has contributed to this country for 22 years through taxes and labor and who isn’t a criminal, won’t be punished because of others' bad behavior or their bigotry. So that a man won’t have to leave the home he gave his life savings for or the place he calls home now, which is America. ❤️
Thank you.
