Hello! I'm Grae. It has been a whirlwind of the past few weeks. I went from a routine physical with some blood tests and hormone levels and has since culminated into being formally diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on August 12th. This news completely surprised myself, my partner, and everyone who knows me. I live an active lifestyle - from my job of manual labor gardening/landscaping (I formally left work yesterday), to powerlifting, to riding my bike. I am a 10 year vegan and love to cook and bake at home - stir fry, hummus, poke bowls, chocolate cake, blueberry peach crumble, etc.
This is a rare cancer that often affects older people, but can affect people my age (30's). I was strongly advised by my oncologist to step away from work due to my treatment and how aggressive it may become depending on results. This means that I have no income and I share a home with my partner and our 2 orange cat boys Buttons and Pancakes. If I was able to move home I would but that is not possible. The cost of food, fuel (to and from appointments and for my fiancée to get to and from work), and all goods has rapidly increased.
I am kindly asking for help with rent, groceries, cat food/litter, and fuel. Anything further will be put toward bills and various expenses that will crop up. Thank you so much in advance for your help. If you choose to leave your name I will reach out and if not, know that I have nothing but love for you in whatever capacity we may know each other
Be well,
Grae
