It has been a long, hard, rewarding road that has lead me here. As an only parent to two children with no financial support I made a life changing decision to attend law school to benefit myself and ultimately my family. I began my 1L year at Wayne State University Law School in Detroit in 2020 in the height of the pandemic. During my time as a law student I continued to work and juggled schoolwork, my career and my family. I graduated from Wayne Law in the Spring of 2024 which prompted me to move to California where I always wanted to live and practice law. After settling in my new home of San Diego I am now preparing to sit for the February 2026 California Bar Exam. The added stress of financial worry has been heavy on me as I am working, studying and remain the sole breadwinner and caregiver to my family. The exam fee alone is more than I can afford in addition to other fees needed to complete my application, study materials and the ability to take time off of work prior to the exam to study and set myself up for success. Looking to my community for support to get over this last hump of my journey to becoming a licensed attorney in the state of California.
