Help a Single Mom Save Her Family Home in Cole Harbour, NS
Spende geschützt
Hi, my name is Megann, and I live in the same neighborhood as this family. I’ve been married for 22 years and I’m a mother myself, of an 18 and 15 year old. I believe deeply in helping others — especially those who give so much of themselves to our community. Emma and her family are great community neighbours. Emma has two young children, preteen age. Both very nice and very respectable children.
When I heard what this single mom is going through — losing both of her parents, fighting for the home her children are growing up in, and doing it all while working hard as an early childhood educator — my heart broke. I can’t imagine facing something like that while trying to keep life stable for your kids.
I don’t know how to fix everything, but I do know this: when someone in our community is struggling, we show up. I’m doing this because no one should have to fight this kind of battle alone.
Even a few dollars will help.
Anything helps. If you’d like to reach out to me privately and offer your advice, donations, or donate privately - Megann Conrad, on Facebook. These donations will help Emily with a down payment on her home. As her fathers wife has won a partial ownership of the home and wants to sell.

Help a Single Mom Save Her Family Home in Cole Harbour, NS
Three years ago, my friend’s world was turned upside down. Within months, she lost both of her parents — her mother to a sudden heart attack, and shortly after, her father to cancer. She was left to grieve while caring for her two young children as a single mother, working full time as an early childhood educator.
The home she lives in — the only home she’s ever known — was bought by her father for her, her sisters, and her mother. But now, due to complications around her father’s estate and the absence of a discovered will, her father’s former spouse (not her mother) is attempting to claim ownership of the house.
This woman has never lived in the home, never contributed to it, and is only pursuing it for financial gain.
My friend is now at serious risk of losing her home — the home where her children are being raised, where her memories of her parents still live, and where she has built a life. With the current housing crisis in Nova Scotia, losing this house wouldn’t just be a heartbreak — it would leave her and her two children with nowhere to go.
She works hard every day to give her children a safe and loving life, but the legal fees, housing pressure, and stress are overwhelming. She shouldn’t be fighting this battle alone.
