Hello my name is David McClendon, I am fundraising for my parents who are looking at losing both their car and possible eviction. My mother is a special education teacher here in Florida, after having a nasty fall that required back surgery and thus out from teaching for nearly all of last year, their bills had really started piling up. This combined with her not receiving a raise for almost eight years, along with rising costs, and their rent nearly doubling after Florida lifted the rent mandate, meant that they were running out of money very quickly.

They had reached out to several government aid departments but were met with either lost paperwork or the agency forgetting to assign a case worker; as such, they are looking at losing their car and, with that, their jobs. The goal of this fundraiser is to raise just enough money to pay what little is left on the vehicle and remove the threat of eviction. Any money raised beyond our goal will go towards paying any months ahead that we can until we can find them cheaper living.
