May 9th, 2017, our world was changed forever when Skyler was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Despite being only 4 years old at the time, he has astounded us all with his positive attitude and his ability to adapt to the challenges he faces on a daily basis. We struggle daily battling the highs and lows and we are always trying to find new and efficient ways to manage this lifelong diagnosis.

One of the more positive methods to alert us or Skyler of dangerous lows or highs in his glucose is by the use of a trained service dog. These dogs can detect hypo and hyperglycemia and alert Skyler as well as us, if there’s an emergency. I am raising funds to help Skyler’s dream of obtaining a Diabetic Alert Dog become a reality. A Diabetic Alert Dog will help him feel safe and allow him to become more independent.
