My name is Zainab Al Khalidi. I’m 42 years old, married, and the mother of three beautiful girls. I work as an advocate at the Palestine center for human rights in Gaza City before the war we lived a simple life in our beautiful house. Like any mother, my dreams were preoccupied with my daughters.
At the end of last December of last year, the war destroyed my house, and my daughters and I became homeless and living in shelters. I faced all the difficulties and challenges and did not leave the northern Gaza Strip. I convinced my daughters that staying here is better than leaving our land, as I work as a human rights defender at the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, within the UNICEF project to save the child, and I have remained in the north until this day.
I am now living in very difficult circumstances, as my family and I have become without a home and without an office to work. I go to work on foot every day, cutting kilometers in order to reach the children and help them. After I return from work after long hours, there is no suitable home for rest and for my daughters to be able to study.
I hope you can help me in rebuilding our hope and happiness and rebuilding our home.
The Gaza Strip has entered a state of famine after the Israeli authorities prevented the entry of food and medicine. Everything available has become expensive and we cannot even buy bread.
We will use your donations to cover basic living expenses - food, hygiene products, medicine, clothes, and transport. And to rebuild our home, little by little.
Your support and donation will keep us alive through these hard times.
