Heidi's Woo Crew Runs Hartford

Hi! My name is Heidi and about 70 friends and I are running the Hartford Half Marathon/Marathon to raise money for the Adam Bullen Memorial Foundation. When I was in the hospital for my stem cell transplant in December of 2020 and January of 2021, my family received a check from the foundation to help cover some of our medical bills. What started out as me and a few of my nurses running Hartford so we could give back to the foundation (and so that I could have a goal to get my body moving again) quickly became me and almost 70 friends and family members running and spectating Hartford to raise money for the foundation.

Our mission with my son's Foundation is simple “Helping Others Fighting Cancer.” No one is paid a salary from this Foundation. We are all volunteers that are involved with this Foundation that was started in memory of my son Adam. We are a small, local, private foundation that provides monetary & personal experience support to individuals fighting cancer. As you know my family has been touched by cancer several times and know first hand how devastating it can be for patients and families while going through treatment. It doesn’t matter the age of the patient or gender. We require basic info when a patient or friend or loved one requests help for a cancer patient and all information is verified. Every patient’s needs are unique in their fight against this dreaded disease. The Foundation has been in existence 21 years this July.
