Heather's Legacy of Love Lives On

Spende geschützt
This past weekend, our family suffered an unimaginable loss. My sister-in-law, Heather Geesaman, suffered a sudden cardiac arrest at home. Her husband, Cory, was there and immediately called 911 and started CPR. Despite EVERYONE’S best efforts, she unfortunately did not survive.

If you are visiting this page because you are a friend, family member or even friend of one of our family members, you know Heather. You know what an incredible, kind, loving, and faith-filled human being she was and nothing you are about to read will come as a surprise to you. If you have found yourself visiting this page, but you did not know Heather, then let me describe to you the kind of person she was. Her family and her faith came before everything else in life. If anything was ever asked of her, the word “no” was not in her vocabulary. She was without a doubt a “giver”. She would find a way to help anyone and everyone in need. Whether that meant giving her love, support, time, or prayers, she always showed up. She was everyone’s biggest fan of any endeavor they pursued. If someone experienced failure of any kind, she was the first person to tell them she would help them find a way to accomplish their goal(s). Whether someone had just gotten married, had a baby, suffered the loss of a family member or was recovering from an illness or injury, she would always show up with a fully cooked meal. Every card, note, or email was never signed with just a “thank you” or “sincerely”. Instead, she would use phrases like “surrounding you in love”, “cheering you on”, or “I’m on your team”. The list is never ending as to why she was an incredible mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

It comes as no surprise to anyone who knew Heather that even in her final moments, she was still giving to others. Through organ donation she was able to give a second chance at life to those who may have never received that chance otherwise. While all of us would give anything to have her still be here with us, none of us question that this is something she would have wanted. As my husband put it, “That’s who she was. Even things she didn’t have to give, she would somehow find a way”.

Heather, Cory, and Alaina, shared one of the closest bonds I have ever witnessed within a family. The unconditional love I witnessed amongst them is incredible. For any of us to think about life without Heather still isn’t something we can even fathom. I would love to raise enough money so Cory and Alaina are able grieve during this time without the worry of medical bills, daily expenses and how they are going to afford the necessities in life, hanging over their head. In the very near future, Alaina will also be attending college, which we all know is not cheap. If you, or anyone you know, are able to donate any amount of money, it is more than appreciated. If you are not in a position to donate, that is okay too! Please share this page with anyone and everyone you know.

Please keep Heather and her family in your prayers.

**Memorial service date, time and place will be announced once it has been decided upon.
