Heather's COVID Crisis Trip, June - July 2021

Ten years ago, when I became a Nurse, I told my husband that I dreamed of traveling abroad, volunteering in undeveloped countries where I was needed most. Little did I know that my first humanitarian mission would happen right here at home.
Last April, I was compelled to travel to NYC to help relieve the overburdened staff. I spent the next 11 months traveling to different parts of Texas, helping those in need. In June, I will be joining a small group of American Nurses and volunteering my help once again.... in Delhi, India.
Their hospitals are beyond capacity. They are overwhelmed, short on supplies, short on beds, short on ventilators, short on oxygen, but most importantly they are short on trained staff to help keep these patients alive.
Sick people are being turned away and literally dying in the streets. We will be working with a group of doctors from around the world, setting up (and running) makeshift hospitals in hopes of saving as many lives as possible. We've also been asked to help train the nurses at some of the hospitals there.
If you can find it in your heart to help support this trip, please consider donating. You donations will allow me to book my flights, help with food and lodging, purchase PPE for myself, and a small supply to share with the locals who might need it.
