Hi, everyone! We have some big - scratch that - HUGE news: we are currently raising money for our adoption journey!
First of all, we want to apologize to our friends who have celebrated bringing new life into their families over the past few years. Having a baby is a big deal, and we want you to know that we are truly VERY happy for you! But please forgive our faults, as we haven't quite been able to show our happiness, or be as excited for you as we wanted to be. We wanted to be the ones making the baby announcement, buying baby clothes, putting a nursery together - but it wasn't meant to be.
For the past 6 years, we have been struggling with infertility. We have gone through 2 failed IVF cycles - one in 2011 with some very serious health complications, and another this past summer, 2014. It's hard to put into words what we've been feeling these last 6 years, especially since we want to be parents more than anything in the world. It has been an incredibly difficult, emotionally and physically painful, costly, and sobering experience for us, but we know this has happened for a reason. We have come to the realization that there is a baby out there who needs us, but we just haven't met them yet. Cue Michael Buble! We know that our journey isn't over - it's been leading us to adoption all along!
We are excited, but also very nervous about this big step. We have gone over (and over, and over!) our financial options, and are not usually ones to ask for help. However, in order to make our dream a reality, we will need it! The saying "it takes a village..." has never been more true. Family, friends, and supporters near and far, we would GREATLY appreciate any help you would be willing to give. We love you, and thank you!
