Healing and Giving Back
On 6/20/25, two days before our daughter’s birthday, our lives were transformed in an instant.
In the early hours of the morning (4 am to be exact), my husband awoke with an excruciating headache. As he tried to move his body, he realized he couldn’t. I was sleeping in our daughter’s bedroom with her, and by some miracle, he managed to call me. By an even bigger miracle, I felt the phone vibrate and answered. We are forever grateful for that small detail that probably saved his life.
Within less than 10 minutes, 911 was called and he was rushed to the hospital, then airlifted to a a better suited ICU unit in Downtown Jax, where the neurosurgeon told me something chilling: he had suffered an aneurysm & he was extremely lucky as only 30% of people with his type of aneurysm even make it to the hospital.
The next five hours were a blur, but at the same time I recall every single detail of fear and hope. Feeling as if this was not real life but a movie.
By the grace of God, he survived the surgery and three weeks later was able to come home (two days before our 8th wedding anniversary).
As we navigate through this season of life, we are also holding space for others who are grieving far deeper unimaginable losses.
For our wedding anniversary this year which falls on 7/11, we would like to honor the Beautiful Camp Girls who tragically lost their lives during in the floods. We are committing to donate a portion of the funds raised here to a charity supporting the impacted families. The rest will go toward ongoing medical expenses, rehabilitation, and care for Clayton.
Whether through a donation, a re-share, or a prayer, we ask you to take a moment of your busy summer days and contribute to a cause that deeply touches our hearts.
Your support means the world to us, and we promise to pay it forward with love, purpose, and deep gratitude.
With love,
Clayton and Lexi Bonner
