message from his doctor: I am Peter Noun, and I am Imad Chehime’s Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist.

I am reaching out to share Imad’s story and his urgent need for financial support in

his battle against an aggressive form of acute leukemia.

Imad, a sweet and energetic 5-year-old boy, was diagnosed with acute leukemia on

October 9th 2024. After detailed molecular testing, we discovered a t(4;11) MLL-AF4

translocation in his leukemia cells—a rare genetic marker that makes his leukemia

exceptionally aggressive and challenging to treat.

Despite the difficult diagnosis, Imad bravely began chemotherapy, which he has

tolerated well. His initial bone marrow results on day 15 showed a promising

morphological response with no detectable leukemia blasts. However, his minimal

residual disease (MRD) level was still 0.55%, which, combined with the MLL-AF4

translocation, places him in the “very high risk” (VHR) category. This means Imad

requires an intensive VHR treatment plan to have a chance at survival.

In Lebanon, the economic crisis has left families without adequate resources. Imad’s

family is unable to meet the costs of this vital treatment, and unfortunately, no NGOs

are able to cover the expenses due to the high cost and complexity of care.Helping

this for little boy. He is 5 years old. His treatment every week cost $2000 US. We tried our best. But we still need your help the cost around $120000 US. He lives in Lebanon. His family can’t afford it. We already sent him couple thousands. But we still seeking your help.
