Hayley's Fundraiser

Hi everyone,

 

I'm holding a fundraiser event and raising money in aid of Dementia UK and every donation will help towards the care, support and respect that they deserve whilst living with this awful illness.

 

This charity is close to my heart, my nan suffered from Dementia for many years before her passing in January 2002. I was 14 at the time, I didn't understand the seriousness of this life changing illness, and that things would never be the same again.

I am holding this event to honour my nan's 20 year anniversary and also thinking of some very close friends of mine that have since gone through this illness with their families.

 

20 years on and there is still no 'cure'. Dementia is caused by different diseases it is unlikely that there will be one single cure.

Research is aimed at finding cures for dementia-causing diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, and dementia with Lewy bodies.

With that in mind, we must do what we can in giving those affected the upmost care and support during this challenging journey.
