Have A Heart, Inc. needs your help!

Have A Heart, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) and has been a staple in the RiverFalls community since September 1994 providing quality care to persons with disabilities. Programming has changed thru the years and at this time( for the past 15 years) the organization has the Adult Day Care Center open. The weekend Respite Program has been closed since Covid. We hope to be able to open that program back up this year.

Our mission is to support adults with disabilities to achieve their full potential in a safe, enriching environment while promoting independence, creativity and socialization.

Unfortunately, 2021 presented us with financial difficulties and many challenges. First, our mobility vans broke down that we use for transporting clients to and from the Adult Day Care Center and going on field trips. The staff has been using their vehicles for the last 6 months to transport clients as we don't have the funding to fix our vans. Next, we had issues with our septic system that caused sewer backups in 2 of our buildings which was a costly fix and cleanup. And the grand finale was on December 30th the pipes burst in our Respite building causing significant water damage to walls, ceilings, flooring, lighting and furniture. We do have insurance but unfortunately, it will not cover all the costs for repairs. We also need to improve the heating in the building to ensure that this issue doesn't happen again. The goal is to reopen the Respite Program this year to help provide additional relief for families who care for adults with disabilities and bring in more needed income. We do receive funding for the clients that attend the Adult Day Care Center, but it does not cover all of the operating costs. The generous donations we receive allow us to continue providing quality care and programming to our clients. Please help us reach our goal of $15,000.00 to cover repair costs and upgrades so we can open the weekend Respite Program which would help us to become better financially. Also if we were able to repair our mobility vans to make transportation easier for our clients.
