Happy Room Projects

After retiring, I chose to direct the paintings of brightly-colored murals in very poor localities around the world.  In the last nine years I have directed over 40 projects in 11 countries. I will be going to The Solomon Islands in September to direct students at two high schools. This year, as always, I need to raise my own funds to cover transport, accommodations, paints and painting supplies.  

The Happy Rooms have made a major impact on the emotional welfare of the communities in need.Teachers report they have experienced enhanced learning evironments when surrounded by beauty and color. One teacher told me she  goes to the Happy Rooms when she feels depressed and finds she can joyfully engage in teaching. Many students stated they never dreampt they would have this amazing opportunity to develop their artistic skills through the Happy Room experience. This gave them a new sense of self worth.
