Happier Heads At Headway

Hi, I’m Keely, I’m 27 but feel more like 97.

Not only am I attached to my hot water bottle all year round, I’m occasionally seen sat doing some crochet or sometimes walking with a stick.

I suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage (an uncommon type of stroke caused by bleeding on the surface of the brain) I then developed Hydrocephalus (Buildup of fluid deep within the brain) whilst away skiing. 

Bloody nasty fall if I do say so myself.

When I fell It caused multiple orthopaedic fractures (way too many broken bones). 

My accident was around 4 years ago, however, I’m still receiving medical care and living with life changing disabilities. 

Alongside my frequent hospital visits I’m lucky enough to have been introduced to a charity called Headway.

I honestly can’t even begin to explain how much they have helped me. I know for a fact I wouldn’t be as well as I am today without them.

They help, not only the brain injury survivor live their new life, but support the always worried family. 

Charity’s like headway always welcome any donations, would you believe this great charity isn’t government funded. Every penny really does help towards a brain injury survivor and their family.

For my birthday I’d love to raise some awareness for this charity and give something to help support my local branch, Headway Gloucester, they have gone above and beyond for me.
