Hanson Family China Adoption
Donation protected
We have decided to adopt a waiting child from China. She will be 18-24 months old and have a mild special need, most likely cleft lip/palate. She will have 3-7 surgeries to repair the lip and/or palate. Possibly one surgery will have already happened in China (Operation Smile). She will also have speech therapy & orthodontics in her future.
We have turned in our application with a local adoption agency (Feb 2015). The next step is to start our Home Study, which consists of meetings with a social worker and several written statements/interviews. Followed by more paperwork and more paperwork (Dossier). This summer we hope to be matched with our child. Six months later Patrick and I will travel to China for two weeks to pick up our child and bring her home.
Our hearts are open. We are ready and excited to expand our family in this exciting way.
Our 3 boys are over the moon excited for our little girl to arrive. They are preparing the dinner table for her already. They pray for our China baby each night. We talk and dream about "Gotcha Day" and what life will be like with a young girl in our wild house.
I've felt for many years there was something missing in our house, knowing it was a child. God lead us straight to His path. We are following you, Lord. We pray for comfort and peace as we work and wait for our child to come home.
