Hannah’s 2nd Surgery

Spende geschützt
Hey everyone! On Tues, Dec. 5, we were informed that Hannah would need a second surgery to fuse her SI Joint, an issue caused by the herniation she had removed in April. She was pain free for about 6-8 weeks post-op, but when we took a 3-hour car ride to the mountains, she began complaining of back and hip pain, but it never went away... This pain is unbearable for her and she isn’t able to function properly, once again, like before; she can’t do the laundry, bend to load/unload the dishwasher, she can’t stand for longer than 15-20 minutes, car rides are not kind to her, and she’s losing sleep every night because she can’t get comfortable. It absolutely breaks my heart seeing her in this amount of pain and not being able to help her.

After multiple appointments, she was finally able to see her surgeon, Dr. Cui, who diagnosed her with severe SI-Joint pain and inflammation (Sacrolitis) and severe inflammation of the muscle that connects her pelvis to her thigh (Greater Trochanteric Bursitis). This was caused by walking differently and compensating on her right side due to her herniated disc, so she’s been walking differently for years and once the herniation went away her body fought back. She has received injections to help with the pain in the muscle, but the only way to help alleviate the stress on her SI joint is to fuse the bones together.

We can’t believe that just 9 short months after spine surgery, Hannah will be checking in to the hospital for a second surgery. Unfortunately, due to the first surgery, we haven’t been able to replenish our savings, and with the surgery happening in the New Year, our insurance deductible starts over in January. Because of this, we are forced to ask for help. We hate hate hate asking for help and assistance, but we can’t move forward with this surgery without it. We will need help with the medical bills, normal bills since she will be on leave from all of her jobs (the Zoo, Bombadier, Teaching Lessons, and DJaying), and a place to stay while she recovers because she can’t climb stairs for about 2-3 weeks after the surgery.

We are hopeful this is the last surgery she’ll need because she deserves to live a pain-free life! Let’s get our girl back on the stage, behind the DJ booth, and smiling again!
