Hanging Gardens of Brooklyn - Herbert Von King

The Hanging Gardens of Brooklyn is a traveling art installation designed as a creative commons for artistic expression, public wellbeing, and collective stewardship. Our organization facilitates free programming in NYC Parks by and for the hosting community.

We provide space, funding, and support for those seeking to create programs that engage the public with their local community and environment.

This summer, the Hanging Gardens of Brooklyn is coming to Herbert Von King Park in Bed-Stuy. Please help us fund our new Curatorial Residency, a program that will be piloted over the course of the 2024 exhibition.

Between four and six local community members will be awarded a one-month residency to develop and execute their own public programming ideas within the space. Each curator will be provided a stipend which can be used to compensate performers and practitioners or cover material costs for their project.

We hope that this program can platform a greater, more diverse network of perspectives and principles to the public visitorship of the park.
