Handi-capable Driveway for Mom
UPDATE (11/03/18):
Hey Everyone! We first want to thank you all very, very much for your generous donations.. we feel so lucky to have so many people who care about our mom and none of this would be possible without all of you. Once she has her driveway fixed, she will have so much more freedom which she soooo deserves!
Just a quick update on where we are in the process:
We are still waiting on permits from the town so until those get squared away, no construction can begin. We are still hoping to get this job completed before the winter and are in contact with various contractors. We promise we will post a picture/video of the job once it's completed! Hey Guys!
As many of you know, the past couple of years haven't been very easy for our mom when it comes to her health. The biggest complication is the fact that she had to get half of her leg amputated which has made mobility especially difficult for her. She has been confined to a wheelchair for the past couple of years and because her driveway and walkway are on such uneven terrain, it's pretty much impossible for her to get to and from her car without the help of others.
If you know our mom, you know she's an extremely independent woman and taking away her ability to get around is taking away her independence.
The purpose of this page is to help raise money for her to get the walkway and driveway at her house leveled out so it will be more handicap-accessible. She deserves it. Our mom is the strongest, most selfless person most of us have ever met and she needs her sense of freedom back. She continues to fight through whatever life throws at her with a smile on her face and an optimistic attitude and we hope that you will consider making a small donation so we can get this done for her as soon as possible, at least before winter comes.
