My Story
In the four years that I attended high school, I spent every April break in Haiti with The Crosby Fund for Haitian Education. I find myself going back to the Crosby Fund year after year because I have noticed how much an education can improve not only an individual's life, but also their family’s life and their community. The Crosby Fund does an amazing job at working with families to provide them access to education that they would never have been able to afford due to the unfortunate economic pressures felt in the Artibonite Valley.
I consider Haiti my second home because of the connections I have made with so many people there over the years. Fortunately, I have been able to maintain contact with a few of these friends; however, it is difficult to keep in touch with those who do not have social media. I have to rely on my annual visit to see them, which would be coming up this June.

What is the Crosby Fund?
The Crosby Fund for Haitian Education is a scholarship granting organization that provides funding for pre-K through university bachelor’s degree to over 450 students in more than 60 schools across Haiti’s rural Artibonite Valley. They began their work ten years ago offering scholarships to 32 high school students. Today they offer 457 full scholarships to students at the primary, secondary, technical and university level. Your Contribution
For this upcoming trip to Haiti, there is a ground fee of $700. This covers my housing and meals. The airfare is $500 from JFK. The travel money would be approximately $200-250. From there, I would be spending my time working with a group of teachers running a summer camp program for those students sponsored by the Crosby Fund.
