My dog, Bailey needs ear surgery

Donation protected

Just wanted to update everyone on Bailey and thank everyone for their generous donations to help pay for her vet bills.  She is doing wonderful, still carrying around her stuff toys, and taking her daily naps, and supervising the chickens and ducks.  I hope you enjoy the new photos of her.  I have also included one that shows how well her ear healed.

My name is Lisa  and i am trying to raise the funds to pay off my Bailey's ear surgery.  I rescued her 9 years ago from an abandoned water heater in a dump in the town of Rocky Point, Mexico, along with her 2 sisters.  I had stopped to drop off some trash, when i saw a man shaking this water heater and out fell 3 beatiful puppies, about 4-5 weeks old.  The worse part, was that another man ran up to him and they were starting to fight over this empty water heater, while the 3 puppies, where just pushed aside by the fence.  I noticed that there was a pile of old discarded food with flies.  Apparently, other people knew about the puppies and where leaving food, but no one wanted to take them.  I woud nomally drive down once a month to drop off supplies from an animal rescue and return the same day.  Well, this day, i came back with 3 beautiful little girls.  Of course, I already had 12 dogs of my own and 6 others dogs i was fostering for a local rescue organization.  Bailey's  sibblings got adopted right away.  Of course, they got their shots, spayed and i did the home checks.  But Bailey, being a bit of a larger dog, was passed on.  Her sibblings looked like Gorgi mixes and at adoptions, they went fast.  I fell in love with bailey a kept her.  In those 9 years, Bailey traveled with me back to Rocky Point once a month to drop off supplies.  Bailey also assumed the role of foster mom to my foster kittens.  Bailey has helped raised several rescued litters of kittens, puppies, rabbits and now watches over my chickens.  I am a foster mom to 23 dogs, of which Bailey is my last personal dog.  You are probaby asking yourself how i have 23 dogs!!  Well, i have gotten involved for the past 7 years helping homeless individuals and their animals who live in th desert.  With the help of a local vet and our Humane Society, their pets have been spayed/neutered, received their shots and even gotten microchip.  These homeless individuas love and care for their pets, but when they need to go into the hospital for a treatment, they have no where to keep them. That's where i come in.  I have a wonderful home, with 2 large yards.  All the dogs have access to my home, sleep inside, since i have 2 dog doors.  My monthly food bill for the 23 dogs, 11 cats is approximately $853.  I groom al the dogs myself, keep up on all their vaccinations as well keep their licenses up to date. I hate asking for help, since i am the one usually helping others, but this vet bill scared me, but Bailey needed it. I am retired on a fixed income, but have never turned down a request for help.  People don't stop to think what happends to a pet when his/her owner is in a car accident and they have no other family.  Or a person dies, who lives alone and has pets. Until the families are reached, which can can several weeks, these poor animals would end up at the pound, being put to sleep, just because their owners are sick or have died and did not leave any arrangements for their beloved pets.  Your donations will help to pay this bill so that i may continue to help other people who have no place to keep their pets.  BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, IS THAT MY BAILEY HAS BEEN BY MY SIDE THROUGH OUT EVERYTHING IN MY LIFE.  At my bedside, when i ran out to the desert to drop off water, food, supplies to the camps. thanks you
