Justin, our son's best friend of 16 years and our self proclaimed "5th child" was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer.
Many of you know him and his amazing family. Justin is 21 years old! Never had any health concerns! Never smoked! Athletic! Plays college baseball (and is awesome at it!) and has such a kind and humble heart!
But cancer doesn't discriminate!
Since his diagnose, he has learned he has a right collapsed lung.
His octerite scan came back inconclusive.
It is still unclear whether the cancer has spread.
According to the oncologist, nothing lit up on the scan, not even his tumor. This means the carcinoma tumor was not reactive to the injection of medication.
So, the next step is for him to get a Dotate pet scan which is more sensitive and provide the results needed for "whats next".
The scan is rare.
Once the scan is complete, they will work on getting "opinions" to move forward and have the tumor removed.
We are praying for Justin and want to help Mark and Beth while they go through this tough time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as well.
