James Mayo Resurrection Muralist
Spende geschützt
RCS has found its own muralist just under it’s nose…. Mr. James Mayo was living in Anchor Square when the gym needed a mural on the east wall depicting all sports figures. A relationship developed over the next several years with Drs. Randy and Bud, who helped keep his spirits up and to stay focused on his work. In return, James embellished the inside of the gym, as well as the Fitness Center.
But his MASTERPIECE is on the north wall in the gym, and is nearing completion!!!! It features our Eagle bursting through a canvas, carrying our "Truth, Honor and Integrity" banner!!
Mr. Mayo is a self-educated/self-made artist who also served our country as an Airborne Ranger in Special Ops. His survival skills continue to be used today. He came to Pascagoula five years ago with $20, a few paintbrushes, an old truck, and his bible.
Mr. Mayo is truly a “struggling artist” and has expenses to pay. However, he does not want to charge his RCS friends for this mural. This story is written for his benefit, so please consider supporting him …….
FYI…..
A good muralist costs $40-80 per square foot. His mural is approximately 45 feet by 25 feet. This makes his gift to us about $50,000 which is a reasonable value.
Please feel free to share this information with your friends! Check out the photos below!
