Harvey Relief - Guetersloh Family

As has been the case with many in Texas, my parents were hit hard by Harvey. They quickly were underwater and evacuated. Their house remains underwater as they are on Buffalo Bayou and are also impacted by the spill gate release from Addicks and Barker reservoirs.

My name is Stephen Guetersloh and my parents live with us now in College Station, Texas. They are safe and we are greatful.  They did not, however, have flood insurace since the house survived Ike, Frances and Alicia with no water in the house.

We have people asking how to help and basically we do not yet know the extent of the damage, but underwater for weeks is not good. Even FEMA cannot get in to assess the damage and they will be out of money by the time my parents can access the house. Therefore we would ask that you donate here so that they can get what they need, when they need it.

Anything helps because they will need everything necessary to rebuild. That starts with an inspector and then a crew to rip out the sheetrock and dry the place out with fans and de-humidifiers. And it goes from there:

- initial inspection / structural expert
- mucking crew
- sanitizing/bleaching chemicals
- de-humidifiers/drying fans
- supplies for crews
- electrition
- new sheetrock and paint
- decking
- lanscaping
- furniture
- appliances
- clothes
- whatever else....

We will wade through early next week and salvage the upstairs while we wait on the water to completely recede so the funds will be used immediately. We also need volunteers to help gut the place but lots have already offered so thank to those that have. We will be in touch.
