My name is Hector Mejia, I am the owner of Cafe Zamora, located at the corner of 37th and Gladstone Street in the S.E. area of Portland Oregon.
SECOND UPDATE:
As today March 27, 2020, I've been able to donate with your help 420 Tamales. Some awesome Neighbors have come to the shop personally and help us fund more tamales.
I still have 180 Tamales remaining for donations thanks to all of you. if you can help us fund more tamales, please do so.

FIRST UPDATE:
We have received so much support that we were able to complete today the donations of 150 tamales!!!
Also, we are funding more at the shop to be able to keep donating!!! We would like to keep this up and going for as long as possible, for this reason, I would like to ask you for your help to fund more donations.
We are making no profits out of this donations, however, we are covering labor cost allowing us to keep working on this hard times.
As today, Thursday March 19, 2020. We have donated thanks to you:
60 Tamales to Grout Elementary School Families.
30 Tamales to Kenilworth Presbyterian Church.
30 Tamales to Transition Projects on Milwaukie Avenue.
30 Tamales to MLK Jr. Workers Center. Thank you all for your support!

We are facing hard times because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but people in need are being hit harder. Is for this reason that I decided to start donating one Guatemalan tamal to children in need or that are being affected because of the schools closures, and help them to don't have to worry where to get food from. However, customers showed up today to the cafe and bought tamales from us to donate them ourselves to others. After seeing this gesture of kindness, I decided to come up with this request and ask you to help us funding 120 tamales to donate to others.
I need you to help me funding 80 tamales and we will donate 40 for a total of 120 tamales for children that are in the meals assistance program. We will be serving them at our shop no questions asked, and also dropping off tamales to our neighborhood organizations to help us feed as many as possible.
Every 10 dollars will fund 6 tamales!
