Keep Growing - Community Skatepark and Art Space

Donation protected
We are building a community skatepark and art space at Grow Tottenham!

This Go Fund Me combined with government funding (currently in application) will allow us to curate and create an amazing new space in the heart of Tottenham.

The queer friendly, inclusive community space will have skate facilities such as mini ramp, banks, flat ground, mani pads and rails designed for all levels from complete beginner to seasoned pro!

It will also have a screen printer with full screen printing facilities!

On site there is already a cafe, bar, courtyard, community garden and events space

We'll be working with Keep Pushing, Hackney Bumps, Axe Ramps and Grow Tottenham to build, maintain and run this new project - and we'll be holding a fundraising launch event soon. In the mean time, please donate what you can to help us get the project started :)

Where your money will go:

We are currently working on designs for the park - but we do already have a small DIY minramp built by local shredder Esther Sayers which is now at Grow as the first part of the project

Your money will be spent on:

Materials - concrete, wood, coping, cement, tools - we need these things in order to build build build!

People Power - we need hands, arms, muscles , experience and positive attitudes to build the place. We have some very experienced designers and builders who we would like to pay properly and fairly to get the job done. We also have lots of not so experienced builders to lend a hand and we'd like to give them some cash for helping too! One of the reasons behind the build is not just to provide a community space - but to provide work for local skaters in the form of building and maintaining the site :)

The Shelter - we'll be building a pretty decent shelter to keep the space dry and warm during the winter

Screen Printer and Art Space - we want to have a dedicated community art space with a screen printer and art supplies

How the space will work:

The skatepark:

The skatepark will be super beginner friendly, designed with progression in mind, but also with space for seasoned skaters to shred.....and most importantly it will be FREE to use!! Opening times TBD

Keep Pushing founder Rae will also run private skate lessons and workshops at the skatepark along with other local skaters, providing jobs for members of the local skate community.

We will also run monthly community lessons and workshops for free as a way of keeping the space inclusive and community centred.

Local skaters will also be encouraged to run events, screenings, skate jams and more at the park - with a focus on inclusivity and diversity.

The Screen Printer:

The screen printer will be run by a small team of local artists lead by Rae. These artists will run the screen printer as a business - printing at cheap rates for local businesses and also allowing the team of local artists to print and sell their own products. A percentage of any profits will go towards Grow Tottenham.

The screenprinting will also have membership available for other local artists who, for a small monthly fee, can use the screenprinter for their own projects on a weekly basis during 'members only' hours.

There will also be free monthly community workshops put on by the team, to provide inclusive accessible print training to local people of all ages.

Please contact Rae via Go Fund Me if you have any questions or would like to be involved in the project by volunteering your time or expertise

Thank you so so soooooo much for your support and we look forward to skating and printing with you soon!
