Baby KoleFifield

Baby Kole came into this world at 25 weeks. He is a fighter. He spent the first months of his life in the NICU....Recently he caught a virus and has come down with a seriously case of RSV. Kole is in critical condition at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.
His older toddler brother is also ill and staying with his aunt. His mom Laura is by his side day and night. Dad Jeremy spends as much time as possible with him but continues to work to help keep the family afloat.  He is exhausted.

As you can imagine the family is overwhelmed, emotionally and financially. If you could find it in you heart to pray for healing and strength for baby Kole.

Also I am asking for any kind of donation to help the Fifield family during this great time of need.  All monies raised will cover any
medical costs for Kole. This has been a huge burden on the family.

UPdate:  Kole has been placed on an ECMO machine to help
him breathe and help his  heart.

Respiratory ECMO
In children with very severe lung disease which is not responding to the usual treatment of mechanical ventilation (breathing machine), medicines and extra oxygen, ECMO can take over the function of the child’s lungs, allowing them time to rest and heal.

Cardiac ECMO
In children with very poor cardiac function, ECMO can take over the work of the child’s heart. This provides time for the heart to rest and recover, while maintaining a good blood supply to the brain and other organs in the body.

Cardiac ECMO may be needed after open heart surgery, when the heart may be swollen, unable to maintain a high enough blood pressure or have an irregular rhythm.  
Please note that ECMO can only help children whose lung and/or heart disease is reversible within about three weeks.

Laura holds a special place in my heart, I was her babysitter when she was only 5.
