Our journey to adopt has been a long one…
Ever since I was a child, adoption has been on my heart. It’s something that I have always felt called to do. When Jason and I started dating in 2010 we talked a lot about the opportunity to adopt when planning for our future and were ready to start a family of our own.
In 2015, we supported my sister, Katie, and brother-in-law, Jason, as they adopted their adorable son, Harrison. This grew our hearts as we saw and experienced firsthand the joy that adoption can bring to a family.
While adoption has been something we have always planned on, doctors recently shared with us that this might be our only option to grow our family.
After much time in thought, prayer, and discussion we have come to the decision that India is where our child is. It is estimated that there are 80,000 children in foster care and orphanages throughout India. These children are looking for homes and forever families.
In addition to the abounding love that our family will be able to provide a child, we are very much expecting and hoping for a child that will benefit from the medical care that they might not have access to otherwise. We are also excited and committed to learning more about Indian culture and having that be a special part of our family.
God’s been preparing us for this for many years... it hasn't been an easy process, it’s not going to be flawless or simple, but it’s God’s design, so we know it will be beautiful.

-You can donate here, as you’re able, to help offset the $40,000 cost (this includes agency fees, country fees, background checks, travel, medical care, and much more) to adopt from India.
-You can join us at our in-person fundraiser and celebration on January 6 at our favorite brewery in our hometown of Maple Grove - OMNI Brewing Co. The fundraiser will be from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm and it will be a great event where we can celebrate our future child and our friends and family that will be supporting us through this process.
-You can learn about India and the process of international adoption.
-You can keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Asking for help is not something that comes natural to us, but we know that it is something that we need to do throughout this journey. Any way that you are able to encourage or support us through this process will be so appreciated!
Matthew 18:5 is a verse that has been on our minds recently… “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me.” We have been called to adopt by our faith and to be in a position where we can listen to that call and follow through on God’s plans for us is an honor and a joy.
