NO COST Camp for Wounded Warriors
Great Adventure Camping Trip
At the present G.A.C.T. (Great Adventure Camping Trip) is in its sixth year. The trip takes place at the Toledo Bend Army Rec Site in Florien, LA and features a weekend of fun in the sun for our Wounded Warrior families, families of deployed service members and single parents with multiple children. The camp is not only for fun, but meant to serve as a support/networking group for our Wounded Warrior/Gold Star families, single military & civilian community parents and offers counseling and skills for family enrichment and cohesion. Too often families forgo vacations because of monetary restrictions, or constraints, which is why we offer our camp at NO COST!
Our camp is a 3 day event that kicks off with a fishing trip to Sunrise Catfish Ponds, Deridder, LA during which, families catch fish for a Fish Fry dinner later on that evening. Throughout the family's 3 day adventure they will participate in traditional camping experiences such as: canoeing/kayaking, trail walking, swimming, fishing, Pontoon boat rides and the camps “Water Wars”. Be sure to bring your water squirters!!!
Over the years the camp has been able to reach more and more families, but with the camp's Founder, who during the camp's past years, was the sole funding source. That is why we are reaching out to you....
