Urgent Help Needed for Our Daughter, Urtė Kotryna Balčiūnaitė

This is Otonas and Raimonda Balčiūnas, reaching out in this time of urgent need on behalf of our beloved daughter, Urtė Kotryna. Many of you are familiar with her long and complicated medical journey. Despite the challenges she's faced, Urtė has thrived, pursuing a BS in Family and Child Development with a minor in Psychology at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is now completing her third year of studies, and we couldn’t be prouder of her resilience and determination.

Unfortunately, during a routine check-up, an MRI revealed that the previously stable benign brain tumor in Urtė’s brain has significantly grown, posing a serious threat to her life. Due to the tumor’s location in a critical area of the brain, immediate surgery is necessary to ensure her safety and well-being.

Virginia does not have the specialized medical facilities required for this complex procedure, leading us to seek treatment elsewhere. After extensive research, we found hope at the Barrow Neurology Institute in Phoenix, Arizona—a world-renowned center with experts dedicated to providing Urtė with the best possible care. In March, we visited the institute and met with an incredible team of experienced neurosurgeons who are ready to help our daughter.

Urtė's surgery is scheduled for May 14. Unfortunately, Virginia’s medical insurance does not cover out-of-state treatment, leaving us to face overwhelming medical bills exceeding $200,000. This financial burden is far beyond what our family can bear alone.

Deja, Virginijoje nėra tokio lygio klinikos kokia reikalinga sėkmingai Urtės operacijai todėl teko klinikų ieškoti kitose Valstijose. Tokią radome Phoenix, AZ, Barrow Neurologijos institute, kur, mūsų manymu, yra geriausi šansai sėkmingai Urtės operacijai. Kovo mėnesį lankėmės šioje klinikoje. Susitikome su labai patyrusių šioje srityje gydytojų komanda, kuri yra pasiruošusi suteikti geriausią pagalbą mūsų dukrytei.
