Each year around the holidays the Grant From Grant is given out to a child at the Hearth Shelter in Pittsburgh. Hearth is a place where women and their children can go to get back on their feet. At Hearth, the women have the resources to become independent and economically self-sufficient with many supportive services. This Grant will give a child and their family the funds they need to purchase things that we all take for granted. (i.e. school pictures, yearbook, shoes for extra curricular activities, etc.) Please help us to collect money for this Grant. All money donated will go to the Grant Taylor Memorial Fund for the Grants From Grant and the Grant Taylor Memorial Scholarship. Grant Taylor was a senior at Norwin High School who tragically lost his life in the fall of his senior year. He was extremely involved in a variety of organizations. Because of his unique and diverse involvement, Grant touched the lives of so many students and members of the community, always bringing joy and laughter to them. Those lives that Grant touched have realized how important it is to “never take life for GRANTed.” It is necessary for us to realize that life is a precious gift and to enjoy the time that we have with each other.
With the help of, Grant's classmates, the Expressions in Harmony foundation, and the friends and family of Grant Taylor, a scholarship has been created in Grant’s name in order to keep his memory alive and to educate the generations to come. The award is given to a member of the graduating class at Norwin each year in his honor. In addition to that scholarship, a grant titled Grant from GRANT is given out to a child in need at the Hearth Shelter in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With this grant, children and their parents, who are usually unable to pay for things that we take for granted can buy things like their school year book, school pictures, or shoes for sports.
